Yaelle Shaham’s practice focuses on health care and insurance coverage disputes, on behalf of providers and policyholders against health plans and insurance carriers. She has represented plaintiffs in civil litigation in both state and federal courts, in a variety of cases, including personal injury, product liability, medical malpractice, elder abuse, and contract disputes.
Prior to joining the firm, Yaelle was an associate at Helton Law Group, where she advised hospitals and health systems in a variety of transactions, dispute resolution, and litigation matters, focusing on statutory and regulatory compliance issues in managed care contracting and reimbursement. Before that, as an associate at Physicians’ Advocates, she represented doctors, practice associations, and other physician organizations in a full range of professional provider issues, including disciplinary actions, credentialing, reimbursement, and contracts.
Yaelle earned her J.D. from UC Hastings College of Law with a concentration in Law and Health Sciences. Additionally, she is a graduate of UC Berkeley with a B.S. dual concentration in Environmental Justice and Development, and US Environmental Policy and Management.
Yaelle’s other interests include the culinary arts, hiking, and the exploration of natural environments. She finds particular enjoyment in travel to other countries. As President of the Hastings-to-Haiti Partnership delegation, she traveled to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake to engage with Haitian law students and legal organizations focused on social justice issues. Most recently, she traveled to Cuba to learn more, firsthand about the country’s unique history and culture.
